Digital Fingerprinting is an electronic capture of an individual’s fingerprints via an optical scanner. The scanned fingerprints and application details are submitted electronically via a secure link to RCMP’s Canadian Criminal Real Time Information System (CCRTIS)
CCRTIS compares submitted fingerprints and application against the RCMP’s criminal record database, than the results are sent to the individual or the 3rd party requested in the application
If an individual does not have a criminal record, the RCMP will process fingerprinting request within 3 business days of receiving electronic submission and send results via regular Canada Post (RCMP does not provide any Courier or Registered Mail), if manual processing is involved and/or if there is a possible match to a criminal record, it might take up to120 business days, Please visit RCMP WEBSITE for processing times guidelines as per RCMP.
If your application has taken longer than 3 weeks and you require an update on the status of application, please email RCMP at CCRTIS-SCICTR@rcmp-grc.gc.ca or give a call to 613-998-6362 between the hours of 7:30AM and 3:30PM EST, providing ONLY the following information
- Full name and date of birth
